The summer travel season has arrived in full swing and airlines serving the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN) report significant demand for reservations during the Memorial Day holiday period and for the entire summer. The number of travelers is expected to rise this week, with the first peak travel occurring from today, May 24th (Wednesday) through June 5th (Sunday).

 

The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) is proud to offer substantial daily air service from JAN to the largest global hubs, with hundreds of connections, worldwide. Delta Air Lines (DL), celebrating 94 years in Jackson, will operate up to six (6) daily flights to the world’s #1 hub airport of Atlanta (ATL). Southwest Airlines (WN) returned to JAN in 2021, and now flies up to seven (7) flights daily to Atlanta, Baltimore/Washington (BWI), Houston (HOU), and weekend flights to Orlando (MCO), with hundreds of connections beyond these key airports.

 

American Airlines (AA) has increased service to their Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) and Charlotte (CLT) hubs and will continue the nonstop to the nation’s capital airport, Washington-Reagan National (DCA). All totaled, they’ll have up to nine (9)   daily flights on peak days. United (UA) will operate three (3) daily flights to Houston-Bush (IAH), with flights to six (6) continents from there.

Know before you go!

Allow time for parking at JAN. Spots are still available in the terminal garage but may be limited. Parking is available in the close-by surface lot, and in the remote lot, located to the right of International Drive before you arrive at the terminal areas. Shuttles will be available for remote lot customers.

The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) operates two airports: Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN) and Hawkins Field Airport (HKS). JAN is the busiest airport in Mississippi, situated in the Central part of the state and serving the Capital region of Jackson with over 3,000 acres of property.
