The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) Board of Commissioners and Staff attended the 2019 Paris Air Show to pursue and develop business-to-business relationships. JMAA’s main objective was to establish partnerships and develop new services while diversifying opportunities and clientele at Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN) and Hawkins Field Airport (HKS).

The Air Show is an annual event encouraging airports nationally and worldwide to attend and seek new partners and suppliers fitting their goals. This is consistent with the JMAA Strategic Plan 2021. Therefore, since JMAA’s last attendance at the Air Show was in 2014, the Commissioners’ decision to attend, with senior staff members, was heavily weighted on building business partnerships to efficiently execute the goals and objectives of managing and operating JAN and HKS facilities.

There were pre-planned, scheduled meetings with potential business partners during the Air Show. The Commissioners and Staff were afforded opportunities to meet with the industry’s largest gathering of aeronautic and aerospace contracting and procurement professionals. This included over 2,000 exhibitors from 48 countries and 290 delegations. We are confident JMAA’s attendance will benefit both JAN and HKS.

The potential partnerships and clientele relationships can generate revenues for both JAN and HKS. The result will be an economic boom for the Jackson Metropolitan area. For these reasons, the Authority and Staff’s attendance was deemed appropriate and successful.
