JACKSON, Miss. – Low-cost carrier, Frontier Airlines announced new low-fare, non-stop flights from Jackson – Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN) with the only service to Denver International Airport (DEN) and Orlando International Airport (MCO). These new flights were announced today at an event with airport and airline officials. Service will begin this fall and to celebrate these flights, Frontier is offering a special introductory one-way fare of $39 which is available now on flyfrontier.com.

“We are proud to bring our unique brand of Low Fares Done Right to Jackson,” said Jonathan Freed, Director of Corporate Communications, for Frontier Airlines. “Frontier’s new flights to Denver and Orlando will make air travel more accessible and affordable for everyone in Jackson and central Mississippi. We look forward to making it easier for people to fly, and for people to fly more often.”

“Today is a good day for the people of Mississippi. The addition of a new airline, new routes, and affordable fares will provide Mississippians more travel options and will make our state a more attractive destination for both tourism and business,” said U.S. Senator for Mississippi, Roger Wicker. “Frontier Airlines’ decision also reflects Mississippi’s growing economy and future potential. I hope other carriers will recognize this trend and follow Frontier’s lead to begin or expand service in our state.”

“We are thrilled to have the addition of Frontier Airlines providing service to our citizens,” said the Honorable Chokwe Antar Lumumba, Mayor of the City of Jackson. “The addition of this carrier demonstrates the good work taking place with our airport commission, with the CEO of our airport, and it is a further example of the forward direction that our city is moving in. We have heard the people’s cry and we have responded.”

“The addition of Frontier Airlines is consistent with the vision of the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA), to be the airport of choice,” said Carl D. Newman, CEO of JMAA. “These additional flights strengthen our value and provide affordable options for both our leisure and business travelers.”
