The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) announces its upcoming Triennial exercise, a crucial event in JMAA’s commitment to airport safety and security. This comprehensive training will take place on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN).

JMAA’s Triennial will simulate an emergency scenario, allowing airport personnel and partners such as local law enforcement agencies, paramedics, fire departments, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other mutual aid entities to evaluate readiness and effectiveness in responding to real-world incidents. This exercise is integral to the Authority’s ongoing efforts to ensure the highest safety and security for passengers and the community. It will kick off at 6:30 a.m. and conclude at 12 noon.

Normal operations will continue at JAN during the event. Travelers and visitors can expect their travel plans to proceed without impact, as all precautions have been taken to ensure a seamless and secure experience. The Triennial exercise is mandated every three (3) years and serves as a vital component in JMAA’s dedication to maintaining the trust and confidence of the traveling public.
