The vision statement of the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) states:
“The Vision of JMAA and its employees is to provide exemplary transportation services and facilities at Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport and Hawkins Field, and thereby be a catalyst for community and economic development.”
As part of our responsibility to live up to this vision statement, the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority is pleased to announce that the NAVIGATOR Program was launched on September 1, 2010. The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority NAVIGATORS are committed to the delivery of effective, courteous information services to all passengers, visitors, and employees. The goals of the program are achieved through the ongoing pursuit of quality in concert with goodwill and hospitality. Our NAVIGATORS are treated with appreciation and respect and reflect the diversity of the travelers served.
WHAT DO NAVIGATORS DO?
As a non-paid volunteer, the JMAA NAVIGATORS act as good-will ambassadors, by providing courteous, friendly assistance from the Airport’s Information Center. The Information Center is located on the departure level of the main terminal. The types of assistance are informational, guidance, and directional. The NAGIVATORS also have the opportunity to participate in special projects and events that take place at the Jackson – Evers International Airport throughout the year.
WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?
The qualifications necessary to become a NAVIGATOR are a friendly personality, ability to volunteer a minimum of four (4) four-hours shifts per month, attendance of an orientation session concerning the program, and a willingness to learn about the Jackson – Evers International Airport (JAN) and the services available to its travelers. In appreciation of their efforts, NAVIGATORS receive a discount at various airport restaurants and stores within the airport. They also receive complimentary parking at any time at the Jackson – Evers International Airport (JAN). However, we think the greatest reward of being a NAVIGATOR is receiving the gratitude of the passengers they serve each day.
HOW CAN I BECOME A NAVIGATOR?
The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority is always interested in hearing from individuals that may wish to become a NAVIGATOR.
