The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) announces it has earned an unmodified “clean” audit opinion for the second consecutive year. The audit was performed by independent accounting firm Forvis Mazars, LLP, a top 10 public accounting firm. The audit of JMAA’s fiscal year 2024 performance was completed before the statutory deadline as the Authority remains committed to fiscal responsibility, operational excellence, and transparency.
JMAA’s, Operating revenues increased by 7% to $24,695,170, with aviation revenues climbing by 10.8% and non-aviation revenues growing by 6.6%, primarily driven by increases in parking revenue. Despite the phase-out of federal CARES Act aid and rising operational costs, JMAA achieved a positive net financial position change of $6,985,030, bolstered by capital grant contributions and strategic financial management.
With approximately $11.1 million invested in capital improvements, JMAA continues to enhance vital infrastructure at Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN) and Hawkins Field Airport (HKS)—ensuring a world-class travel experience, supporting job creation, and strengthening regional connectivity. These investments reinforce the Authority’s focus on long-term growth and financial sustainability.
“As a cornerstone of aviation services and economic development in the region, JMAA remains focused on customer service, infrastructure enhancement, and positive community engagement,” said Rosa Beckett, Chief Executive Officer. This audit underscores our continued commitment to prudent financial management, transparency, and service. Our economic health directly translates into improved facilities, expanded opportunities, and a stronger future for our airports and the Mississippi communities we serve.”
“JMAA continues to uphold the highest standards of financial reporting and accountability, ensuring long-term stability and progress,” stated Elshad Garayev, Chief Financial Officer. Full details of the FY 2024 audit are available on the JMAA official website.
