The Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN) is gearing up for a thrilling Spring Break season! Airlines serving Jackson anticipate a significant surge in passenger traffic, with excitement from check-in to takeoff. Starting this Friday, March 7th, until Monday, March 17th, the number of fliers is expected to rise considerably during this post-winter break for students, families, groups, and individual travelers.
“As we prepare for this busy travel period, the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) team and our airport partners stand ready to provide an efficient and seamless travel experience,” stated Rosa Beckett, Chief Executive Officer. “We are very proud of our role as a vital transportation hub for Mississippi, connecting travelers to destinations on six (6) continents with just one stop. At JAN, our dedication is to ensure every passenger’s safety, comfort, and satisfaction.”
To ensure a stress-free travel experience, please remember to arrive at least two (2) hours before your flight departure. Our partners at the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) have implemented the latest technology security screening at JAN to speed you on your way safely. Our airline partners facilitate an easy check-in process with convenient cell phone apps. While at the airport, indulge in various restaurant and bar choices on the East and West Concourses.
JAN has many parking options, including the convenient terminal Garage ($19/day), the close-in Surface lot ($17/day), and our Remote/Economy lot priced at ($13/day). Remote/Economy shuttle services operate 24 hours daily to and from the main terminal. Spaces often fill up on peak days, so for updated parking availability, please call 601.360.8690. As an added convenience, JAN continues to provide free cell phone lot parking as visitors await arriving passengers. This is located by turning left on Cross Street before International Drive splits at the surface lot.
Beyond Spring Break, it’s never too early to start planning your summer escapades! JAN’s world-class airlines, American (AA), Delta (DL), Southwest (WN), and United (UA), are ready to jet you across the globe to a favorite U.S. city, the rest of North America, perhaps a Caribbean island, or to five (5) other continents.
LET’S KEEP FLYING, JACKSON. From all of us at the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority: Your Connection to the World, we wish you a happy Spring Break filled with boundless exploration and unforgettable memories.
