The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) and airlines serving the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN) anticipate significant passenger demand during the year-end holiday period. As Jacksonians and central Mississippians head out to see family and friends or to take a well-deserved vacation, the number of travelers is expected to rise beginning this Friday. Peak travel days are expected from December 20th until the 29th, and the second peak is from January 2nd until the 6th, 2025.
To ensure a smooth travel experience during this busy period, the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority strongly encourages all passengers to arrive at least two (2) hours before their flight departures. This allows ample time for parking and security procedures and permits travelers to grab a bite to eat, enjoy a beverage, or pick up any last-minute travel essentials on either the East or West concourses.
Flight choices and passenger volumes are at levels not seen in a decade and a half, with passenger numbers above the pre-pandemic era continuing through 2024. Mississippians have the best airline choices serving JAN: American, Delta, Southwest, and United still have seat availability for late-booking travelers, so contact your favorite airline or travel planning professional for trip options. To get the latest travel information and updates, passengers can follow Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport on social media channels, @JacksonAirports, or visit www.iFlyJackson.com.
Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport offers a range of convenient parking options to meet passengers’ needs, including:

- Surface lot: $17 per day
- Long-term lot: $13 per day (with complimentary shuttle service)
