As a result of an expansive water valve leak on Saturday night at the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN), which has since been resolved, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will temporarily process departing passengers at the East Concourse TSA Checkpoint for Delta and Southwest Airlines flights. This measure is being taken out of an abundance of caution until TSA equipment on the West Concourse is properly cleared for full utilization.
Restoration efforts are underway to dry out impacted areas, and we anticipate screening operations to be fully restored on both concourses by Monday morning (July 15th).
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we address this issue. As today is a heavy travel day, we continue to encourage passengers to arrive at JAN at least two (2) hours before their respective departure time to ensure a smooth and timely travel experience.
