Identification Requirements (download: Badging Procedures)

  • Two forms of identification are required and must be presented when applying for, or renewing access media.
  • One type must be a valid, government issued picture ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID, or military ID.
  • Applicants must provide a document to verify employment authorization. Applicants can provide a U.S. Passport, social security card, birth certificate, or permanent resident card.
  • Copies of personal identification and employment authorization forms are not accepted.

Required Signatures

  • An authorized signatory of the company sponsoring a badge applicant must sign all badge applications presented by an employee of their company.
  • The Airport Identification Office has a record of these authorized personnel on file if you are unsure of who may sign a badge application.
  • Applications for Commuters do not require an authorized signature but, do require the commuter to show active ID from an approved air carrier.

Badge Distribution And Collection

  • Each employee is responsible for obtaining his/her own badge from the Airport Identification Office.
  • Supervisors and other employees of the company will not be given another employees badge.
  • Authorized signatory personnel are responsible for returning all badges (even those that may be expired) when the individual to whom the badge was issued is no longer in their employ or has a change in access privileges.

Suspension Of Badge Privileges

  • Each sponsoring organization is ultimately responsible for controlling all SIDA badges issued to their employees.
  • When the percentage of lost/stolen/misplaced badges for any one company reaches 10% of the company’s total badges issued, the Airport Identification Office will suspend further badging of that company’s employees until the situation is satisfactorily resolved.
