Director of Capital Programming
Darion Warren began working for the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority in August 2016 as the Director of Capital Programming. Mr. Warren is responsible for overseeing and directing the planning, design, and construction of Capital Improvement Program projects that are in support of JMAA’s Strategic Plan. He has over 18 years of government experience. During his career in Public Works, he has served as Infrastructure Manager for the City of Jackson and Hinds County, and Director of Public Works for the City of Brandon. While working in the Public Works field, Mr. Warren has assisted with and managed several Public Works capital improvement projects and routine maintenance tasks such as street and drainage improvements, water and sewer improvements, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Additionally, Mr. Warren has training in several areas such as storm water management, FEMA National Incident Management Systems, asphalt maintenance, and drainage maintenance, to name a few. He also has a Class D Certified Water Operator certification and Certified Floodplain Manager certification. In 2010, he received an honorary mention in the Association of Watershed and Storm Water Professionals (AWSP) Magazine and was named Jackson Free Press Person of the Day in 2011. Mr. Warren is also a graduate of the Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership’s Leadership Jackson Program class of 2011-2012, and a member of the American Association of Airport Executives and the American Public Works Association.
In 2005, Mr. Warren received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Jackson State University. He also obtained a Geographical Information System Technology Option Certificate from Hinds Community College in 2007. He continued his studies at Belhaven University where he received a Master of Science in Management Degree in 2010. Mr. Warren is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Free & Accepted Mason Prince Hall Affiliation. He is also member of Progressive M.B. Church where he serves as a Deacon. He was born and raised in Brandon, MS where he currently resides with his wife, ShaTerria.
