Passengers Requested to Arrive at Least 2 Hours Prior to Flight Departure Times

(Jackson, MISS)– On the eve of one of the nation’s most celebrated holiday periods, The Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport is bracing for Spring Break 2016 with the anticipation of increased traffic and air travel. Students and passengers from almost every college and university, at home and abroad, will take advantage of the one-week holiday breaks during the weeks of March 5 through April 9, 2016.  Now in effect, the weekend holiday traffic and travel brings with it an unlimited number of tourists with a boost to hotels, restaurants, shopping and resorts.  Airports and airlines are definitely impacted.  Processing passengers in a timely manner is critical and will remain the priority in getting them to their destinations.

In anticipation of this increased traffic, the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority is requesting all passengers to arrive at least 2 hours prior to their flight departures.  In addition to Transportation Security Administration (TSA) standards and protocols, some temporary changes in the screening locations and walk-throughs for departures may occur. Airport and TSA personnel will be on hand to facilitate a smooth transition and experience for passengers and customers.

For additional information regarding TSA screenings, processing and protocols, please contact Erika Roberts, Jackson Public Information Officer for TSA at 601.936.1712 or erika.roberts@tsa.dhs.gov.
