JACKSON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT AUTHORITY LAUNCHES STRATEGIC PLAN 2021 – A MODEL FOR 21st CENTURY AIRPORT ENTERPRISES

(Jackson, MISS)– In an ongoing effort to promote and enhance its services to Mississippi’s communities, the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority announces the unveiling of  its Strategic Plan 2021.  A roll-out of stakeholder meetings for citizens and for the Cities of Jackson, Brandon, Flowood and Pearl will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at two meetings scheduled for 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Dubbed as the Strategic Plan 2021, the design is a bold one with an overall mission of connecting Jackson to the world.  Priority projects will include: a consolidated rental car facility; improvements to the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport’s terminal concourse with expanded concessions; land development and amenities for the East Metro Parkway; state-of-the-art airport lodging and hotel accommodations; and, improvements to Hawkins Field.  The sum total of these will have an exponential value to the JMAA enterprise while stimulating its business incubator of air service and land development opportunities.

A renewed spirit of first-class customer service unique to Mississippi’s hospitality will be second to none.  Carl D. Newman, A.A.E. and Chief Executive Officer of JMAA embraces the Strategic Plan 2021 as an opportunity to grow and attract world-class businesses while celebrating the services of JMAA’s existing ones.

“Championing these efforts and other innovations will yield an enormous return on the enhanced services and amenities for our customers,” said Newman.  “Coupled with the contributions of a robust enterprise, we will become a world-class air transport center through our focus on customers-first and continuous improvement”.

The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority received authorization from the Board of Commissioners in February 2015 to solicit proposals for a Strategic Planning Consultant.  The original draft was presented to JMAA in December 2015 with a formal presentation to the Board of Commissioners in February 2015.  Opportunities to participate in the discussion of the review will be provided for the community, business leaders, policy-makers and stakeholders at the March 22 9:00 a.m. meeting at the JSU Institute of Government located at 101 Capitol Street in downtown Jackson.  An afternoon meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Ivy Venue, 1170 Luckney Road in Flowood.  For additional information regarding the Strategic Plan 2021, contact Jean Frazier at 601.664.3547.
