Jackson Municipal Airport Authority Offers Holiday Travel Tips Just Ahead of Memorial Day Weekend
Jackson, MS – The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) is expecting to serve between 1,000 and 2,000 departing passengers per day at the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN) during the four-day Memorial Day Weekend Holiday.
Know before you go – visit www.iflyjackson.com to check for flight schedule updates; airline and rental car reservations; and parking availability.
Parking will be limited as our three parking facilities will fill quickly. Arrive early, at least two hours before your flight. Long Term parking rate is $10.00 per calendar day, and a free shuttle will take you to and from the passenger terminal. The Garage and Surface Lots are also available at $16.00 and $14.00 per day respectively.
Expect long lines at check-in and at security checkpoints. Prepare for security by having ID and boarding pass readily available. If you have questions related to acceptable forms of identification, or which members of your party require their own identification, please visit www.TSA.gov for detailed information on the requirements. Pack as much of your liquids, gels and aerosols as you can into your checked luggage. If you would like or need small amounts of liquids, gels and aerosols available to you while you travel follow the 3 –1–1 Rule … 3 ounce bottle or less; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. If you find you do not have a zip-top bag when you need one, JMAA has courtesy bags available to passengers at the screening checkpoints.
We hope these tips, will help our passengers enjoy a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend.
