(Jackson, MISS) — The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority announces its exterior lighting enhancements project for the Jackson Evers Municipal Airport grounds. Construction for the ‘Go Green’ Pole Lighting Project is expected in February with a targeted completion date of July, 2016.
The upgrades to existing perimeter lighting will benefit passengers and visitors to the Jackson Evers Municipal Airport. Areas soon to be affected by the new LED lighting are: International Drive entrance, South Hangar Drive, Freight Ways Drive, the Long Term Parking Lot, Upper Level Garage, the Cargo Facility and the East and West Employee parking lots.
Garry Montgomery, Maintenance Manager for the JMAA, views the project as one that will add dimension and efficiency to the operations. “The ‘Go Green’ Pole Lighting Project will enhance the safety of our ground traffic and visitors”, said Montgomery. “LED technology is substantially more efficient, they last longer and reduce maintenance costs.”
The project has an estimated annual energy savings of $17,000. The ‘Go Green’ LED lighting project will provide sharper visibility for traffic egress with unlimited safety improvements for passengers, consumers and suppliers.
